I have always loved flowers. I think I inherited this love affair from both my Grandma and Mum who have shared a passion for botanics, both painting and planting beautiful blooms in the garden or illustrating them on canvas. After studying, living and working in Bristol for over ten years my husband, our two year old son along with a four month old puppy made the move to Somerset.
I adore flowers in the home and really admire floral design and arrangements. I thought I would set the challenge to try and grow my own flowers for myself and for others to enjoy. The variety of flowers available on the high street can be rather limited and often come with not only a hefty price tag but a rather large carbon footprint. It would be great if we could grow more flowers locally in this country, creating seasonal displays that not only help the environment but help our native pollinators and wildlife too.
After a successful first season growing and selling flowers I am so pleased to say that Branch and Bloom will be expanding. I will still have my garden and allotment to grow in but I have also just taken on a field and have plans to fill in with flowers! We will also have a permanent spot at 38 Market Street in Wells, setting up as a micro florist to sell Branch and Bloom flowers. The shop will offer flowers all year round from our own locally grown flowers and our trusted suppliers.
