On plot that will pretty much be exclusively filled with cut flowers there will also be about five rows of runner beans making an appearance. This is purely because my Grandpa wanted to give me something to grow on the alotment and runner bean seeds were what he gave to me! I had to honour this passing on of seeds and hope that he also passed on his green fingers with them.

This makes me very happy. The runner bean seeds that my Grandpa gave me have taken off and I've planted them in the allotment. He's a gardening hero of mine and it's wonderful to be growing seeds from things he used to grow in his garden 🌱#runnerbeans #seed #inheritance #actuallygrowing #gardenersofinstagram #GYO #growyourown #healthylifestyle #beans #greens #veg #branchandbloomblog #somerset #soil
Not knowing how old these seeds were or what variety they are I hoped for the best and to my surprise they are now doing really well! The sense of pride I already have for these plants is similar to the pride I feel in myself for engaging fully in my new life and adventures so far in the world of horticulture and amateur agriculture. Being surrounded by growth is the purest encouragement for the soul.
